The two-course combination in one gated resort is unique in the Caribbean and has meaningfully raised Cap Cana's status among serious golf travelers planning multi-course trips.
At Punta Espada itself, recent greens renovations have improved putting surface speed and consistency. Maintenance protocols are among the most rigorous in the region — the course staff turns over greens and fairways on a schedule comparable to PGA Tour venues. The GPS cart system has been upgraded with more detailed flyover views and precise front/middle/back yardages on every hole.
Standard guest green fees at Punta Espada run $395–$495 USD per round (including cart, GPS, and range balls; caddies are mandatory, with gratuity extra). Surface quality is the best it has been in several years following the recent renovation cycle. Fairways: 9/10. Wide, firm, and true bounce. Paspalum fairways are mowed tight enough that a good lie is expected, not lucky. Rough: 8/10. Kept at a consistent medium height — penal enough to reward accurate tee shots without being brutally thick. Bunkers: 8.5/10. The waste bunkers are perfectly raked; greenside bunkers have fresh, consistent sand. Overall course condition: 9/10.
There is no course in the Caribbean that combines championship-quality design, consistent conditioning, PGA-level service, and genuine accessibility for visiting guests the way Punta Espada does. Teeth of the Dog at Casa de Campo is a superior pure design on many metrics, but its access is more restricted and pricing has escalated. Green Monkey at Sandy Lane is extraordinary but effectively unavailable to non-hotel guests. Punta Espada threads the needle: elite course quality, honest access, and a world-class resort environment. Combined with Las Iguanas as a second-day option, Cap Cana is the definitive Caribbean golf destination in 2026.
