These terms and conditions cover our booking and stay policies for Villa Espada, and the rules for using the website located at espadavilla.com (the "Website"), the official direct-booking website of Villa Espada in Cap Cana, Dominican Republic. By accessing or using the Website, you accept these terms in full. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the Website.
In these terms, "you" and "your" mean the person accessing the Website; "we", "us" and "our" mean Villa Espada and the operators of espadavilla.com. Words in the singular include the plural and vice versa.
The following policies apply to a confirmed Villa Espada stay. Specific figures — deposit schedule, cancellation windows, holds and any villa-specific rules — are set out in the rental agreement you receive when your booking is confirmed. Please contact us for the current terms for your dates.
Once your dates are confirmed you will receive an invoice. A 50% deposit is due within 7 days of booking, and the remaining 50% is due 30 days before arrival. Food, beverages, golf, excursions and other optional services are invoiced separately and settled on island; anything added during your stay is charged at check-out. On-island payments can be made in US dollars (cash) or by credit card (Visa, Mastercard or American Express); credit-card payments made on island carry a 4% processing fee. The exact schedule for your booking is confirmed in your rental agreement.
A cancellation policy applies to every reservation. The specific terms depend on your dates and season and are set out in your rental agreement when the booking is confirmed. Separate cancellation terms apply to destination services such as airport transfers, golf, excursions and meal plans. If you are unsure which terms apply, please ask before you book.
Check-in is normally from 3:00 pm and check-out by 11:00 am. Earlier check-in or later check-out can sometimes be arranged but is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Your villa manager greets you and assists with check-in; a valid photo ID and a credit card are required, and a pre-authorization hold is placed on the card to cover any incidentals or damages during the stay. You will review and sign the house rules at check-in. Any outstanding balance is settled at check-out, in US-dollar cash or by card.

Electricity is included in your rate. Because power is expensive in the Dominican Republic, we ask guests to be mindful of consumption where convenient — setting air conditioning to around 78°F, keeping doors and windows closed while the AC runs, switching off AC, lights and TVs when leaving a room, and turning off pool or hot-tub heaters when they are not in use.
Villa Espada is fully staffed, and gratuities are entirely at your discretion and always appreciated. One hundred percent of any gratuity is shared among the team who look after you during your stay. A common guideline is around 10% of the rental, divided among the staff. Gratuities are best given in US-dollar cash; gratuities charged to a credit card are subject to tax and a processing fee.
Unless otherwise stated, we and/or our licensors own the intellectual property rights for all material on the Website — including text, photographs, graphics, logos and page design. All rights are reserved. You may view and, where offered, download material from the Website for your own personal, non-commercial use (for example, printing a villa guide to plan your trip), subject to the restrictions below.
You must not, without our prior written permission:
Government agencies, search engines, news organizations and online directory distributors may link to the Website, provided the link (a) is not deceptive, (b) does not falsely imply sponsorship, endorsement or approval, and (c) fits within the context of the linking party's site. Other organizations — such as consumer or business information sources, travel and golf resources, associations, and educational institutions — may request to link to the Website by contacting us; we may approve such requests at our discretion where the link is genuine, relevant and not damaging to our reputation.
Approved parties may link using our corporate name, the URL being linked to, or another description that fits naturally within their content. Use of our logo or other artwork for linking requires a separate written agreement.
Without our prior written permission, you may not create frames around our web pages that alter in any way the visual presentation or appearance of the Website.
We reserve the right to ask you to remove any or all links to the Website, and you agree to remove such links promptly on request. We also reserve the right to amend these terms and our linking policy at any time. By continuing to use or link to the Website, you agree to be bound by the current terms.
If you find any link on the Website that you consider offensive or inappropriate, you may contact us at any time. We will consider requests to remove links, but we are not obligated to do so or to respond directly. We do not warrant that the information on the Website is complete, accurate or current, and we do not promise that the Website will remain available or up to date.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we exclude all representations, warranties and conditions relating to the Website and its use. Nothing in these terms will (a) limit or exclude our or your liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence; (b) limit or exclude our or your liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) limit or exclude any liability in a way that is not permitted under applicable law.
Any information, guides or pricing on the Website are provided for general information only and may change without notice; they do not form part of a contract until confirmed in writing as part of a booking. To the extent the Website and its information are provided free of charge, we will not be liable for any loss or damage of any nature arising from your use of the Website.
