Punta Espada is why most groups come to Villa Espada. But a golf trip is not 18 hours of golf a day — and a family reunion or multi-generational trip needs more than tee times. So what does everyone actually do between rounds, on rest days, or when the non-golfers want their own fun?

A Private Putting Green — On the Property

Villa Espada has its own private putting green, on the villa grounds. Warm up your stroke before you head to Punta Espada, settle a friendly putting contest after dinner, or let the kids have a go. It is a rare feature even among luxury Cap Cana villas, and for a golf group it is the kind of detail that turns downtime into more golf.

The Outdoor Games Area

The outdoor games area is where a lot of the between-rounds competition happens. It includes:

• A full-size outdoor pool table
• An outdoor ping pong table
• Cornhole (bags)
• A giant chess board

• Lawn darts

Pool Games for the Kids

For families, the pools are more than a place to cool off. They come stocked with kids' pool games and a pool basketball hoop, so younger guests have their own fun while the adults relax on the loungers. With two pools — a ground-level pool and a rooftop infinity pool — plus a 16-person hot tub, there is room for everyone to spread out.

Two Hammocks for the Quiet Moments

Not every moment is a competition. Two hammocks are tucked into the grounds for the slow afternoons — a book, a nap, or watching the golfers roll by on Fairway 5.

When the group wants to venture out, everything in Cap Cana is a short golf-cart ride away (the villa includes two 6-person carts):

• Cap Cana Marina — the largest in the Caribbean, for sportfishing charters, catamaran trips, and sunset sails
• Los Establos — horseback riding, about 7 minutes
• Rafa Nadal Tennis Center — about 8 minutes
