For serious golfers visiting the Dominican Republic, skipping either course would feel like a missed opportunity. That tension — two elite courses, two different corners of the island — is exactly what the Villa Espada itinerary is built to resolve.

The Geography: Cap Cana to Casa de Campo

Cap Cana sits on the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic, roughly 10 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). Casa de Campo is in La Romana on the southeastern coast, approximately 55–65 miles west of Cap Cana — about a 60–75 minute drive depending on traffic.

How Villa Espada's Access Works

Villa Espada guests play Punta Espada through the villa's private arrangement with the course, which provides the member-guest discounted rate — a reduced green fee exclusive to Villa Espada renters that saves approximately $200 per golfer per round compared to published guest rates. Tee times are coordinated by the villa's butler and villa manager. There is no coordination burden on guests.

For Casa de Campo, Villa Espada facilitates access to Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, and The Links through the villa's special access arrangement. Groups do not need to be registered Casa de Campo resort guests to play the courses — the villa handles access. Standard published green fees apply at Casa de Campo (including the 18% ITBIS tax that Casa de Campo charges as a third-party course).

Las Iguanas — Cap Cana's second Jack Nicklaus Signature course, three minutes by golf cart from Villa Espada — is also available at regular rates, giving groups a third course without leaving the enclave.

Punta Espada's member-guest discounted rate (exclusive to Villa Espada renters) saves approximately $200 per golfer per round versus published guest rates. For a group of 8 playing two Punta Espada rounds each, that is roughly $3,200 in aggregate green-fee savings — a material offset against the villa rate.

Food and groceries are billed at cost with a 15% service charge; there is no food-and-beverage markup. No 18% Dominican Republic government rental tax applies to the villa rental itself.

One Address, Two World-Class Experiences

The combination of Punta Espada at your doorstep and Casa de Campo accessible in under 90 minutes is not something most Cap Cana accommodations can offer. Hotels in the enclave lack the villa's golf arrangement. Independent villas elsewhere in Cap Cana do not have the member-guest discounted rate. Casa de Campo's own resort villas put you at the Dye courses but remove you from Punta Espada entirely.
