Most accommodation options near Punta Espada, whether villas, hotels, or resort rooms, are within the Cap Cana community but not directly on the fairway. They require a short drive or golf cart ride to reach the clubhouse. Villa Espada is a different setup entirely.
The property sits immediately alongside Fairway 5. Two 6-person golf carts are included in your rental, and the course is accessible from the villa grounds. For a group of golfers, that removes a layer of logistics that eats into the day: no coordinating rides to the clubhouse, no waiting around. You finish your morning coffee and you're on the course.
The villa also includes member-rate tee times at both Punta Espada and Las Iguanas, the second Jack Nicklaus Signature course at Cap Cana that opened in 2026. Both courses are available throughout your stay, and green fees are billed at checkout at member rates rather than full public rates.
Villa Espada is a large private estate: 8 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and over 10,000 square feet. It accommodates up to 22 guests, which makes it well suited to golf groups, extended family trips, and corporate retreats where keeping the whole party under one roof matters.
The full staff is included in the rental rate. That means a private chef, a personal butler, full maid service, and private airport transportation from Punta Cana International Airport, which is roughly 20 minutes away. There's no negotiating staff as an add-on or budgeting for housekeeping separately. It's part of the rate.
For meals, the chef works with you on menus throughout your stay. Food and beverage costs are billed separately at cost plus a 15% service charge, so you're paying for ingredients and groceries rather than a fixed per-night food fee.

It's a par 72 layout with 18 holes, nine of which face the ocean. The course has hosted the PGA Champions Tour Cap Cana Championship multiple times, which gives it tournament-tested conditioning year-round. Bella Vista restaurant at the Punta Espada clubhouse is an easy golf cart ride from the villa.
Las Iguanas is the second Jack Nicklaus Signature course at Cap Cana. It opened in 2026, represents a $26 million investment, and is three minutes from Villa Espada by golf cart. The course has 18 holes, three of which run alongside the ocean (Holes 12 through 14), and sits across 10 inland lakes in a parkland and nature preserve setting.
Because the course is brand new, very little has been written about it yet. For guests at Villa Espada, it offers the chance to play a course that most golfers haven't had access to yet, and to do it at member rates. Full details on both courses are available on the golf page.
Rates at Villa Espada vary by season. Low season runs from May through October at $2,500 per night with a three-night minimum. Peak season runs from November through April at $4,500 per night with a five-night minimum. Holiday periods, including Christmas, New Year's, and Easter, are priced at $6,500 per night with a seven-night minimum.
All rates are subject to 18% Dominican Republic tax and service charge. A $2,000 security deposit is required and returned within seven days of checkout. Green fees at both courses are billed at member rates at checkout.

Cap Cana is a 30,000-acre gated resort community with a reasonable amount going on beyond the two Nicklaus courses. From Villa Espada, Juanillo Beach is eight minutes by golf cart, Scape Park (cenotes, zip lines, cave tours, and 4x4 buggies) is seven minutes out, and the El Dorado Waterpark is six minutes away and included in Cap Cana access.
The Rafa Nadal Tennis Center, one of only six worldwide, opened at Cap Cana in January 2026. The Cap Cana Marina offers deep-sea fishing and yacht charters. The St. Regis Cap Cana is within walking distance, with spa access and Nina restaurant by Chef Diego Munoz.
